Giant Weekend Ahead at AT&T Park

The Giants return to AT&T Park on Friday, May 9 for a 10-game homestand. Chase Utley and the Philadelphia Phillies will open the stand with a 3-game series starting on the 9th. The Giants will then host Miguel Tejada and the Houston Astros for a 4-game set on Monday, May 12. To round out the homestand, the Giants will play in their first Interleague series of the season beginning Friday, May 16 against Ozzie Guillen’s Chicago White Sox.

Forever Giants Friday presented by Bank of America will be on Friday, May 9 with a special Giants alum signing autographs on the field from 5:45 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. The first 20,000 fans in attendance will receive commemorative Croix de Candlestick buttons, presented by Supercuts.

May 9 is also Mexican Heritage Night. Fans that purchased special Mexican Heritage Night tickets will receive a Mexican themed belt buckle and are invited to attend pre- and post-game parties.

Phillies pitcher Jamie Moyer will be joined by Giants Aaron Rowand and Randy Winn during a homeplate ceremony on May 9 to raise awareness for Camp Erin San Francisco. Camp Erin was created by the Moyer Foundation and is the largest network of bereavement camps for children in the U.S. with 18 camps in 12 states.

On Saturday, May 10 the Giants will be holding their Junior Giants Glove Drive presented by Bank of America. The first 5,000 fans who donate a glove or $10 will receive a 50th Anniversary pin. Fans are encouraged to stay after the game on Saturday for the Giants Community Fund’s post-game live auction on top of the visitor’s dugout. Items up for bid include a first pitch opportunity, the chance to be a balldude-for-a-game and autographed memorabilia packages. The auction will continue online at giants.auction.mlb.com, starting Monday, May 12, and will feature a glove chair autographed by the Giants team and a "kids take the field" opportunity for an upcoming game.

Centerfielder Aaron Rowand will be presented his 2007 Gold Glove award during a pre-game homeplate ceremony on May 10.

Genentech Strike Out Cancer Day will be on Sunday, May 11. Pink Giants caps will be distributed to the first 20,000 fans and cancer survivors will be honored during a homeplate ceremony. Select Giants and Phillies players will use pink bats in honor of Mother’s Day and the fight against breast cancer.

May 11 is also Autograph Sunday and See’s Candies Kids Run the Bases. Mothers in attendance to the game will also be allowed to participate in the base running on this Sunday in honor of Mother’s Day. Those who are interested in participating will have to exit the park and re-enter from the Portwalk gate in the right field corner 10 minutes after the last out is recorded.

The Astros will be in town on Monday, May 12 to kickoff Asian Heritage week. The week will begin with Chinese Heritage Night presented by Kikkoman. Fans with special Chinese Heritage Night tickets will receive a Chinese heritage/SF Giants baseball cap. The San Francisco: Hep B Free Campaign will be present at each game throughout the week to educate fans about the importance of testing and vaccinating Asian Pacific Islanders for hepatitis B. A special public service announcement featuring Giants outfielder Dave Roberts and Assemblywoman Fiona Ma will carry this important message in the ballpark.
