It is the day so many dread.
What it is about Friday the 13th that has so many people fearing the worst has yet to be scientifically answered.SLIDESHOW: SF Exploratorium Puts Your Superstitions To Test There are many theories out there about why this is a day of bad luck, and just as many on why this is just another day.
Superstitions or not, The Exploratorium in San Francisco finally decided to put it to a test. From Friday, June 13 to Sept. 1, The Superstition Obstacle Course will be open for those really wanting to know if walking under a ladder might be bad luck.If you want to test it even further, you can break a mirror. Unfortunately, the stigma that comes with this superstition is that you will have bad luck for seven years. You be the judge! The course challenges you to pick up an unlucky penny, test your fate by knocking on wood, spill salt, see a black cat, even sit in a chair with a big number 13 on it.If you’re still feeling brave and convinced there’s no bad luck associated with this course, walk about 100 feet over and stand underneath a hanging piano.Whether you’re superstitious or not, here’s your chance to prove wrong others who think differently. Just don’t blame us if you’re stuck with seven years of bad luck.
