UPDATED: 11:39 am PST February 4, 2008

Eddie Muller, author and director of the San Francisco Film Noir festival, brings a collection of black and white films from the 1940s and 1950s to the Castro Theater.

The films screened at the festival are rare 35 millimeter prints of movies not available on VHS or DVD.

Proceeds from the festival benefit a nonprofit organization founded by Muller to preserve old film prints.

This is the sixth year of the film festival and some screenings have filled the 1400 seat Castro Theater to capacity.
