Search For Missing Mill Valley Woman Intensifies

Mill Valley police, friends, family and co-workers of a missing woman resumed their search at daybreak Wednesday.

25-year-old Veronica Ruiz told a friend Monday she was going hiking and has not been seen since.

According to police, about 30 people searched the Mt. Tamalpais area on Tuesday, where Ruiz has been known to hike previously.

Search Intensifies For Mill Valley Woman

Friends reported Ruiz missing at 10 p.m. Monday.

According to police, she was last heard from at 2 p.m. Monday.

Ruiz was described as "despondent," police reported after breaking up with her boyfriend.

Friends said they believe she most likely was headed toward the Railroad Grade trail head on Mount Tamalpias or toward the Golden Gate Bridge. Ruiz recently completed the Nike Marathon, which runs along that route.

Ruiz is a Treasury Department employee is of Asian descent with black hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 115 pounds.
