The Modesto community is reacting to the filming of the Hollywood movie about Laci Peterson's murder.

The film is called "The Perfect Husband" and stars Dean Cain as Scott Peterson.

Most of the USA Network movie has already been shot in Southern California. But filmmakers are now in Modesto for the finishing touches.

People who live in Modesto already have mixed reactions about the movie, even before its completion.

"I don't want anymore attention to Modesto," said one resident. "Why make a movie out of it? We don't need to glorify it. It's ridiculous."

Meanwhile, there are those who look forward to seeing it air on television.

"I think it's a great idea. I'd love to watch it," a Modesto resident said.

City officials say the movie can only be good for Modesto, because it provides a chance to show off the town as a film-friendly community.

The film is due to air some time before may of next year.
