SAN JOSE -- A man who has spent the last decade visiting thousands of Starbucks Coffee shops came to San Jose on his high-energy trip around the world. The man, identified only as "Winter", has been to about 7,000 Starbucks in the past 10 years, NBC 11 reported. Winter has been to so many Starbucks, a movie, called "Starbucking," is out about his journey."I started this when I was 25 years old, and just saying that sounds strange -- that I've been doing it for a decade," he said.
When asked why he would do something like this, Winter, who is a computer programmer by trade, said he was a collector, noting that he still collected comic books, cards and coins."I'm trying to get one of every Starbucks," Winter said.Winter chronicles his journey on a blog, and even created a mapping program to track his worldwide progress."One of my plans was to start a company and make a billion dollars like Microsoft," Winter said. "But, let's be rank, I'm a pretty good programmer, but I don't have the business skills or the idea for the killer app."Winter admitted all of the coffee drinking did come at a price. His favorite drink was straight, basic coffee."I feel bloated from all of the liquid," Winter said. "I start to feel a headache, so I take pain relievers every day. Extreme levels of caffeine make me itch."For its part, Starbucks isn't taking a stand on Winter's quest. NBC 11 reported that to interview Winter, they had to go to a local coffee shop.
