Animal Activists Target South Bay Company

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Animal rights protestors are targeting a South Bay company after a dog was killed in a sales demonstration.People for the Ethical Treatment Of Animals is protesting medical equipment company Micrus Endovascular at a conference in San Francisco Wednesday.PETA is upset that a Cleveland, Ohio, clinic induced an aneurysm in a dog for a corporate sales demonstration.
The dog survived the demonstration but had to be put to sleep later.The protest will start at noon.A representative for Micrus said the matter concerns the clinic and not their company.The doctor who performed the demonstration was disciplined but is still working, reported NBC11's Cheryl Hurd.
