Yves Rossy, a former military pilot, currently flies for a Swiss airline.

Rossy flew horizontally for more than six minutes Tuesday before cutting the jets and parachuting to the ground.

Rossy took safety precautions on the flight, including an emergency parachute that will automatically open in case he blacks out.

"The idea is to have fun, not to kill yourself," Rossy said.
