49ers Player News

Isaac Bruce, WR - 49ers

The 49ers may be without WRs Isaac Bruce, Bryant Johnson, and Ashley Lelie in Friday's preseason opener. Bruce may be held out because the team knows what he can do after 14 seasons. Johnson has struggled with a hamstring injury and will not play. Lelie, out with a calf injury, is in danger of not making the team if he can't get healthy soon. Impressive rookie sixth-rounder Josh Morgan should get a long look against the Raiders. (Aug. 08, - 12:35 PM CDT)

Raiders Player News

Javon Walker, WR - Raiders

Javon Walker (knee) says he is "fully committed" to the Raiders and wants talk of his potential retirement "to go away." "I will not leave (the team)," Walker said. "I am very excited about the season. ... I had had a lot of things going on internally. That's why I offered to write that check. I did not want the team to suffer. I'm fine now." This is somewhat reassuring. Now, if only he could get open. (Aug. 08, - 12:53 PM CDT)
